Matt was born and raised in Turlock, CA where he enjoys still calling it home with his wife (Leigh) and their five children (Eric, Ellie, Emma, Clark & Kate).

Matt obtained his Property and Casualty insurance license and began his insurance career with GDI while still in high school. Later obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from California State University Stanislaus and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus in Corporate Finance and Entrepreneurial Strategy from University of Pacific. While pursuing his MBA, Matt left GDI to work as an MBA Intern for Kaiser Permanente where he was tasked with evaluating and improving the operational efficiencies of underperforming departments. His experience with Kaiser allowed Matt the ability to replicate his experience in identifying operation deficiencies, developing improvement plans with obtainable goals to correct the deficiencies, and to implement plans in a manner to deliver measurable operational improvements. Following completion of his graduate studies, Matt accepted a position with E. & J. Gallo Winery as a Financial Analyst in their Domestic Sales Finance Organization where he was responsible for aggregating and maintaining annual sales plans, implementing a new financial reporting system, and routinely reporting and evaluating sales field performance.

Matt possesses both his Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance licenses. He has also completed extensive insurance and risk management training including multiple sales and risk management courses from the Hartford School of Insurance and has obtained his Charter Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) designations.

Matt rejoined GDI in 2010 where his responsibilities include client consulting, risk management and engineering, sales, and managing GDI’s day-to-day operations. In December of 2015 Matt became the President and sole owner of GDI.

Moving forward Matt’s vision and focus for GDI is to enhance the organization’s service offering to provide an integrated and comprehensive platform for its clients to manage not only their risk and insurance needs, but also provide a springboard for improving the efficiency (both operational and financial) of their own operations. Matt’s often heard saying, “GDI may not be Disney, but we will do our absolute best to give as close to a ‘Disney’ experience to our clients and community as we possibly can.”

In his spare time Matt enjoys travel, outdoor activities, running, playing sports and is an active member in multiple community service organizations including Turlock Chamber of Commerce, Turlock Sunrise Rotary Club and Business Networking International’s Turlock Business Builders Club. On weekends however, you’ll most likely find he and Leigh at the local sports fields cheering on their kids in all manner of sports (Softball, Soccer, etc.).

Grant was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area where he met the love of his life, his wife Minnette, and graduated from San Mateo High School. After serving in the United Sates Army, Grant Davis began his career selling insurance door-to-door as a one-man agency in 1980. By 1985 he joined and became partner in a small independent agency until 1987 when it was acquired by a larger firm. In 1989 he decided to start his own agency, the predecessor to GDI Insurance Agency, Inc. (GDI), as an exclusive agency. Frustrated with being hindered by the lack of products provided by exclusive carriers for his clients, Grant decided to leave the exclusive arena and start a scratch independent agency in 1999. GDI has since grown to do business across the country and is ranked as one of the largest and most innovative agencies in its primary markets.

Grant has always taken it upon himself to create and/or improve upon the products and services in the marketplace to ensure his clients are provided with the best programs to meet their needs. Noticing the impending burst of the housing bubble, he created the Home Value Plus program in 2007 to cover 20% of the market value of a home. More recently, he created Credit Enhancement Bonding and Insurance as a program to secure his clients’ Businesses and Projects in order to increase the likelihood of acquiring funding. In addition to receiving acclaim for the programs listed, he has also been featured and published numerous times in trade publications such as Rough Notes, Agent & Broker, Builder & Developer, Personal Real Estate Investor, and many others.

Grant is a nationally recognized thought leader on the topic of insurance sales, and has personally contributed to the success of multiple multi-billion-dollar commercial developments throughout the United States.

Grant resides in Turlock, CA with his wife Minnette. They have four adult children and seven grandchildren. They enjoy spending time together and travelling back and forth to Texas to visit their children and grandchildren.

Stephanie lives in Hilmar, CA where she was raised. Shortly after graduating from Hilmar High School, Stephanie began her career in the insurance industry with a longstanding local agency. She joined the GDI team in 2011 where she saw the opportunity and excitement of a fast-growing organization, starting in the role of Assistant Account Manager in the Commercial and Ag department and moving her way up in the organization to now managing both the Commercial & Ag department and the overall operations of GDI’s multiple branches. Stephanie lives in Hilmar with her husband (Brian) where they recently purchased their home. She enjoys spending time with her family, doting on and spoiling her four nieces and one nephew, and going to Disneyland with her husband and friends every chance she gets.

Amber lives in Hilmar, CA and graduated from Los Banos High School and lives with her husband and their two children. Amber began her insurance career in 2012 as a member of the GDI team. Since then she has worked for a couple other local agencies until GDI was able to win her back a couple years ago. She holds both Property & Casualty and Life & Health insurance licenses and specializes in Commercial and Ag insurance. Amber has become an instrumental part in all aspects of the Commercial & Ag service team, providing superior service and advice to her clients. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.

Regan was born and raised in Turlock, CA, graduated from Denair High School and received her degree in Organizational Communications from California State University Stanislaus. Regan grew up in and around insurance and has 18 years of experience in the industry and in 2016 joined the GDI team to lead the Health & Benefits unit. She is a proud and adoring mother to her son who she refers to as “one cool kid” that is full of energy and spunk. In her spare time she loves to learn, workout, camp, fish, read, and trying her best to keep up with her son.

Mayra Orozco is from Delhi, CA where she graduated from Delhi High School and later attended Merced College, and where she still lives there with her husband, and her two daughters. Prior to joining GDI, she has worked in Human Resources and Accounting in the Grocery Industry. She began her career with GDI in the role of Receptionist, then quickly advanced to becoming an assistant with the Health & Benefits team, and from there she has settled in as a member of the Commercial & Ag team in the role of Assistant Account Manager while obtaining her Property & Casualty insurance license along the way. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family as well as shopping (ESPECIALLY for shoes).

Marissa is a Bay Area transplant to the Central Valley, being born in San Jose, CA, raised in San Mateo, CA and having relocated to Turlock about 5 years ago. She has been a valued member of the GDI team since 2013, starting her GDI career as the receptionist and office administrative assistant and being promoted to Assistant Account Manager in Personal Lines, and is now pursuing her Property & Casualty insurance license. Marissa is the proud married mother of three children (2 boys & 1 girl) and two dogs (Buster & Coco). In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, going to the gym, spending time with her kids/family, watching movies, playing baseball, and going to Disneyland. Marissa’s key to success is to, “always help our clients because they ARE our family”.

Daniela was born and raised in the Central Valley, hailing from Snelling, CA where she also currently lives and having graduated from Buhach Colony High School in Atwater, CA. Shortly after graduating from high school she obtained her first job in the insurance industry as a file clerk for a local insurance agency and was quickly promoted to an assistant Commercial/Farm Customer Service Representative and continued her progression by obtaining her Property & Casualty insurance license. Daniela joined GDI in early 2016 and has become an indispensable member of the Commercial & Ag team. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, friends and her longtime boyfriend, going to rodeos to watch her father, brother and boyfriend perform, shopping, spoiling her fur-baby Gucci (Boston Terrier), and playing pranks on her coworkers.

Liana lives in Turlock, CA where she was born and raised. She attended school locally and is a graduate of Turlock High School. Being newer to the industry, Liana is accelerating through the ranks and is currently pursuing her Property & Casualty insurance license. Liana and her twin sister are the youngest of 5 siblings and she has two dogs (Champ and Oso). In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing sports, watching movies and spending time outdoors.

Jessica grew up in Delhi, CA and now lives in Winton, CA where she and her husband purchased a home. She and her husband were recently married and have three children (a boy and two girls). She attended Maric College where she obtained her degree in Medical Assisting and plans to go back to college to pursue even further education. Before joining the GDI team, Jessica worked in Payroll and Accounting for a large staffing company where she obtained the experience and expertise that helps her in her success in her role as the internal accountant for the GDI organization. In her spare time she loves getting crafty in her craft room making hair bows for her daughter and loved ones, and most of all getting to spend time with her family.

Deztenie was born and raised in Turlock and is happy to continue to call it home. She graduated from Pitman High School and attended Merced College and brings a strong level of experience in both the retail and safety industries. Deztenie is the proud parent to her daughter and enjoys spending time with her family, playing board and card games, binge watching Netflix, listening to podcasts and coloring with her daughter.

Scott was born and raised in the Southwest side of Chicago. He attended Southern Illinois University where he attained a B.S. in Social Work. He relocated to the Central Valley in 2005 and settled in Salida where he continues to call it home. Although Scott is relatively new to the industry he has already attended the prestigious Hartford School of Insurance and was awarded the Personal Lines Coverage Specialist (“PLCS”) designation. Scott never takes for granted the responsibility his clients entrust him with and when he is not working relentlessly for his clients he enjoys golfing, traveling and watching or attending (preferably attending) NBA games. Scott and his wife Sarah have been married since 2006 and they enjoy spoiling their two dogs (Mex & Harry).

Liz was born in Modesto, CA and raised in the Central Valley. She graduated from Los Banos High School and enjoys calling the Central Valley home to this day, living with her family in Turlock. Liz entered the insurance industry in 1989 and has attained both the Certified Insurance Service Representative (“CISR”) and Agribusiness & Farm Insurance Specialist (“AFIS”) designations to further enhance her knowledge and abilities to ensure she stays on top of the industry’s latest and greatest options for her clients. Liz has been married to her husband (Dino) for more than 20 years, has two daughters (Andreya and Amanda), and their family dog Marlie (a very energetic Queensland Heeler). In her spare time, she enjoys reading, camping, and running – she’s completed three Half Marathons in the last two years.

Maria was born and raised in Modesto, CA, attending Modesto High and receiving a degree in Business Administration from SJCV. She currently lives in Salida, CA.  Maria is a licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent. She came to the insurance industry in 2012 from the clerical side initially as a receptionist. Prior to entering the Insurance industry she worked as a veterinary assistant/office administrator at a Veterinary Hospital in Modesto, CA. She has four children who are active in school clubs and competitive basketball and track & field. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking, spending times outdoors and watching documentaries.

Aaron Bennett has grown up in the Central Valley, living in Hilmar his whole life and attending Turlock Christian. After he graduated high school, he attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he earned a degree in Financial Management while working full-time. He made his way back home and worked for two and a half years as a Financial Advisor, helping business owners plan for the future.

Aaron is active in the community and is currently the President of a local BNI chapter where he met Matt Davis. After working some cases together, Aaron decided to join the GDI team in the middle of the summer.

Jill was born and raised in Redding, CA.  She moved to Bend, OR and called it home for 29 years.  Jill recently relocated to the Phoenix, AZ area with her family.

Digital technology and web design have been her passion for over 17 years.  She started with taking an HTML class when her daughter was a baby and growing from there.  For many years Jill owned and operated her own web design company, learning and developing digital marketing techniques. For  7 years she worked for an insurance marketing agency.  This time allowed her to learn and teach marketing techniques to clients in the insurance industry.

Jill joined the GDI Insurance Agency team in 2018 and looks forward to putting her knowledge and skills to work for GDI.

In her spare time, Jill loves to spend time with her family, attend College sporting events (Go Ducks and now ASU!) enjoy concerts, or work in her garden.

Bill Waite literally stumbled upon GDI Insurance in mid-March, 2012.  After attending a webinar that featured a nationally recognized insurance industry consultant, he began to investigate the consultant’s track record by examining the testimonials featured in the consultant’s marketing materials and website.  One company in particular stood out from all the others to him.

Since this company happened to be located just a couple hours away from Bill’s office in Tulare, he decided to contact the founder of this company, Grant Davis – not for a job but rather for encouragement.  You see, after several years as an independent insurance broker, Bill knew the level of service he wanted to give his clients and he knew that as a one-person office he couldn’t meet his own expectations in that regard.  Grant offered many thoughtful insights and the two agreed to sit down and talk further.  In GDI Insurance, Bill found all the resources and expertise needed to deliver the kind of client service that he always knew just had to be available somewhere.  Bill quickly came to realize that GDI didn’t simply deal in insurance but rather in solutions.

Bill has always been a problem solver – in recent years as an insurance broker and in over twenty-five years before that as a business consultant and in various other capacities structuring and placing diverse commercial loans and other asset-backed financing and leases for both U.S. and Mexican businesses.  Some of his transactions completed include restaurant fixtures financings, a cross-border point-to-point satellite communication system and a $24.5 million sale-and-leaseback (via bareboat charter agreements) of two ocean-going cargo vessels.

Bill is a 2002 graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University (Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an International Emphasis and a minor concentration in Spanish).  Bill is a husband, dad and “Grampa” and also enjoys his involvement with the Tulare Sunrise Rotary Club.

Michael Drake

In a way, Michael has been in insurance his whole life – his father was an Allstate agent for 33 years, in fact his parents met at Allstate.

Michael began his insurance career in 1994 with Allstate as an agent, where he worked for 10 years. For the last 15 years, he worked in both personal lines and commercial underwriting. Michael is excited to continue his insurance career returning to the agency side, especially in Folsom.

An avid runner and swimmer, Michael can be found both on the trails around L Natoma year round and in the lake in the summer months.

He is also excited about biking his commute to the office along the American River bike trail from his home in Old Fair Oaks.

Michael graduated from San Diego State University in English and still enjoys reading and writing.

Michael also enjoys time up in the foothills on his 12 acres in Shingle Springs.

His daughters, Lily and Fiona, are both now off to college.

Dianna Showaker-Bangs

Born in Nebraska and raised in Oregon.

Dianna started in personal lines with Travelers Insurance in Seattle as a policy typist and then moved into the fire department.

Dianna went to the agency side in Anchorage, AK and then never went back to the company side.   She has been a personal lines CSR and then an agent, personal lines supervisor and then a personal lines manager in an offsite location for a big brokerage firm.

She relocated to SoCal to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. Dianna decided to become an independent contractor for Paragon Insurance Services and she continues to work with GDI Insurance Agency

I now reside in Seal Beach CA with my dog, Gabby.   We are attached at the hip you might say.

Connie Amundson was born and raised in the Midwest.  She moved to Sacramento, CA in 1992.  Prior to joining GDI Insurance in April 2018 she worked for Paragon Insurance.  Connie has experience in the banking industry, accounting and in insurance.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her cat Sammy.  Traveling when she can, hiking, card games, movies, spending time outdoors & visiting the CA wine country.  Connie is the receptionist for our office in Folsom, CA.  Her motto “Always get back to your customer in a timely manner.”
