As President Lemieux concluded “We have been truly fortunate to find such a rare company and group of individuals. GDI’s accomplishments, its background and the programs it has created leave no doubt that GDI was the right choice for WSA”.

On October 29th 2013, H.E. Amb Alain Lemieux, President of the World Sports Alliance (WSA), appointed GDI Insurance Agency Inc. (GDI) as WSA’s Lead Insurance Broker.

“Choosing an insurance agency to represent WSA throughout the world has been a daunting task which has not been taken lightly” Said President Lemieux

Indeed, the unique nature, complexity and variety of the risks presented by the diverse range of WSA’s Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects is often beyond the scope of even many of the largest insurance agencies that were considered.

The importance of the WSA Social Initiative, coupled with the wide array of WSA PPP projects in Waste-to-Energy, Waste-to-Fertilizer, Natural Resource Mining, WSA-ITS-Container Scan and other areas, demand the highest level of risk management, contractual transfer, insurance, non-insurance risk transfers and mitigations to assure the success of its mission

In the course of the review process, WSA determined that, among the candidates considered, GDI was the best suited to assume the role of WSA’s Lead Insurance Broker. They have consistently demonstrated the ability to take complex risk and insurance concepts and present them in a manner readily understood by all parties and then support their work with the details demanded by the toughest critics.

In its capacity of Lead Insurance Broker, GDI will be providing the insurance and performance guarantee products and services required for the successful funding and deployment of WSA’s projects throughout the world.

WSA is proud to have GDI Insurance Agency, Inc. represent its global interests in support of the WSA Social Initiative. GDI’s technical skills and work in the area of Community Safety, as attested to by a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from the office of US Congressman J. Denham and by a Certificate of Recognition from the office of California State Senator Anthony Cannella, is in harmony with WSA’s mission and with the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Further, WSA applauds GDI’s advocacy on behalf of the homeless and addicted in their community which, not surprisingly, has secured a commitment from Curtis Whitney Holdings, Inc., WSA’s Commercial Capital Manager, to support the development of a shelter in GDI’s home of Turlock, California.

As President Lemieux concluded “We have been truly fortunate to find such a rare company and group of individuals. GDI’s accomplishments, its background and the programs it has created leave no doubt that GDI was the right choice for WSA”.
